PARENT MEMO
December 5. 2025
Dear ABC Huskies Parent,
The Board of Directors of the Sherman County Child Care Foundation is pleased to announce that staff member, Nicole Goretzke, will be promoted to the position of Assistant Director effective December 21, 2025. In addition, Nicole will serve as Interim Executive Director during Mika Searls maternity leave. When Mika returns, Nicole will resume her position as Assistant Director.
Nicole has been a very effective member of our childcare team and we are excited to have her take on additional responsibilities in the operation of the ABC Huskies Child Care program. We also feel that, due to her growing family, Mika will need assistance in her role as director and Nicole has the skills needed to help her. Additional duties assigned to the Assistant Director will include, but is not limited to, preparation of menus/shopping lists, development of Parent Newsletter, tracking immunization records, development of medical & allergy plans, and assistance with billing.
The Board has established a Chain of Command should the staff member in charge have a family emergency. The four members of our Board of Directors are completing background checks so they may serve as Second in Command. In an emergency situation, the Second in Command will decide how to move forward which may mean calling in additional staff or making arrangements for parents to pick up their children.
The Board is doing all we can to ensure quality care which we know is so important to the working young families in the Sherman County community. Please let us know if you have any questions.
